Volkswagen's Deception of the EPA
The EPA threatened to not certify any of the 2016 diesel engines that Volkswagen was going to sell. So they had more than two weeks for Volkswagen to come out with a statement, you know, whatever they wanted to say and to kind of gloss this thing over. They didn't do it. The EPA actually comes out the, there's a public service announcement from the EPA that orders the recall of all 2009 through 2015 cars that are equipped with this TDI engine here in the United States. And it wasn't until the 20th of September when Volkswagen finally admits this deception and issues a public apology.
