The Politics of Passive Society

If you consider having a society decide what the time is as bossing people around, then it is inevitable that people are going to be bossed around. I think there is a certain way in which we all do, if we live through any part of the 20th century, have a kind of problem with the Germans. If you put the clocks an hour forward in this country, then that is the meridian, which you'll be observing. We would be living on the Berlin meridian. Why do that when you live in London?
