And that habitual thought process is exactly what we teach you how to break in this episode. Mark and I are discussing the different ways the victim mentality shows up. We're talking about the different stages of the victim mentality because it's not always a raging 10. Sometimes it is somewhere in that low grade victim mentality. You're feeling the symptoms of it around like a two to a three. And here's the thing. The victim mentality is not in itself a problem. It's prolonged exposure to the victim mentality and compounding victim-centric stories that prevent us from taking action and moving forward in our lives. It's so important that we understand and address the victim mentality in ourselves and in our clients and in people in the world because this is the thing that's sucking all the fun out of your life. This is the thing that is making things way more difficult than it needs to be. This is the thing that's keeping you frustrated, that's keeping you disconnected, that's keeping you dissatisfied. The thing that is at the core of that just like, oh, I wish things were different mindset, right? And the best part about what we do at Enlifted is we get to combat this thing. We get to give you practical tools, help you unwind your victim-centric stories that you don't even realize that you're framing yourself as a victim. This is not, you don't do this intentionally. This isn't something that you want to do. This isn't the way you want to think about yourself. This isn't the way you want to feel and operate through the world. The problem is, is we're not taught about how our language and the language of others is going to paint us into this victim mentality. We're not taught about what to do about it once we recognize that that's how we are feeling. So in this episode, Mark and I dive in and we talk about the different pillars of conflict language that frame and shape the victim mentality and how and why it's showing up that way. And you're going to hear us go through the process of naming a few sentences, talking about how it feels, talking about what that picture paints in our head and then go down the path of how to shift and change it. At its core, that's what the Enlifted Method is. It's to free people of their victim mentality to put you in an empowered state so that you can go out and do the things you want. So you can be lighter, brighter, happier, more participatory in the world, enjoy it more. This is all about freeing yourself from that mental prison that you can lock yourself in that I have locked myself in many times before. So as you listen today and as we listen together, I will interject a few more times and share little tidbits or takeaways. I want you to listen to this and think about where in my life is the victim mentality showing up? Is it a specific area? Right? Because it doesn't have to be in every area of life. It might be just on a specific area, a specific thing at work, a specific part of your relationship, a specific thing about the thing you want to be doing that you're not that you're getting in your own way. Think about as you listen to this episode, where in my life is that victim mentality showing up? And then if you dare, if you dare write the sentences down that you're hearing around that topic. And as you write those sentences down in the later part of the episode, I know that we go through conflict language, we go through projections, negations, soft talk, see if you can translate some of your victim mentality sentences and give yourself a rating. Is this at a one or is this at a 10? Like how severe is my victim mentality around this thing? And then what happens if I change a few words and how does that shift my story and then practice that throughout the week? All right. That's your assignment. As you listen, observe your own victim mentality. See where it's showing up. Do you already know you're like, Oh man, I am totally a victim about my finances right now? Or maybe you know, wow, I am really been into victim mentality around my relationship with my parents right now. Or wow, you know, I'm in this victim centric story around this guy that I've been dating, whatever, right? Like think about where you are where it's showing up and how you can help shift it by paying attention to the words and the breathing. Here we go. Let's listen. Get control of your words. Get control of your story. Get control of your breath. Get over your fear of not being good enough. Get your dream clients. Get them

results and get in lifted. Hey guys,
Speaker 6
welcome back to another episode
Speaker 1
of Get Enlifted. Mark and I are here in person recording this on video.
Speaker 2
It's a special day. Hey, howdy.
Speaker 1
And one of these days we're going to have this whole setup in a whole studio. Oh yeah.
Speaker 2
If
Speaker 4
you had to aim at one of these days, when would that be? July 2023 at Rainmaker.
Speaker 3
Good shot. Yeah.
Speaker 2
We have one of our friends, Chris and O'Connor has, I mean, how nice is that
Speaker 1
place? Oh, I mean, it's one of the top recording studios in the country.
Speaker 2
Yeah,
Speaker 3
it's true. I've been
Speaker 2
in there three panel doors to
Speaker 1
get to a recording studio.
Speaker 2
And it looks really good too. And when will we
Speaker 1
slash you have your own studio?
Speaker 4
Oh.
Speaker 2
I didn't think we were going to start last time. I didn't think we were going to start like
Speaker 4
this either. Let's
Speaker 1
give it another year from that July 2024. And what happens when that happens? Oh, we will have already. You guys will have been listening and following along and you'll know you'll
Speaker 4
be caught up to speed. Oh
Speaker 2
yeah. Producing a little content there,
Speaker 1
will we? Content machine.
Speaker 2
Content machine. What are we talking about
Speaker 1
today? So we're talking about today the sneaky components of the victim mentality and how we'll start this by saying you know the person who has a victim mentality that you can't stand. You know that high stage four victim mentality, full blown victim mentality. What you may not be aware of is the low grade victim mentality, that chronic constant murmur in your head about how nothing really works out for me. I can't do that. That'll never be for me. This isn't coming my way. That chatter in your head that is talking you out of shit that you want to do, preventing you from stepping into the roles you want to take and probably annoying the crap out of you. Take out the probably. It definitely annoys the crap out of people. Somewhere between annoyance and frustration, those are, you know, people can get used to anything.
Speaker 2
And we can acclimate to low grade levels of
Speaker 1
anxiety, frustration,
Speaker 2
annoyance, stress, tension, rigidity in the body.
Speaker 1
And when someone goes in there and starts getting to the core of what
Speaker 2
those, what's driving those things, which is usually stories, okay,
Speaker 3
and
Speaker 2
like, man, I have no idea that was influencing me so much.
