The Paradox of Elite Education
The working class is again the sort of the various kind of social pathologies that we're seeing family breakdown and violence. All those kind of things seem heavily to be concentrated among the many if you like among sort of the working class the masses how do you explain that paradox? I think it's precisely it follows along the lines of what I just said which is as it turns out certain kinds of benefits and advantages are increasingly monopolized by the elite. The current ruling class in fact is engaged in issues which is to claim that it is the greatest defender of egalitarianism, says Julian Zelizer.
