The Empire of the Third Century
Vast quantities of goods made their way to Britain. Huge quantities of vast amphorae filled with olive oil from Spain or pottery from Gaul or wine from Palestine. As the trade flowed, Britannia's classical style towns grew and flourished. But trouble flared along the Rhine, the Danube and the Persian frontiers. And soldiers began to leave Britannia to help with those threats until the army in Britain was reduced to just half its original strength.
