The Path to Machine Learning in Medicine
Zing: I went into academia really very late. My experiences have mostly been through more applied work with clinical data and informatics. You know, for any condition, you're going to encounter these directly relevant questions right on the shop floor which suffer from lack of data or need to use data. And useful data is often locked behind different clinical systems. So my route into machine learning was really first learning about data management and interoperability but then ultimately using data science to answer these questions.
