Is There a Backlash Against Ranking Culture in Higher Education?
Some of the elite universities are beginning to step back from some of the sort of ranking culture because it can be very destructive. So I think what you probably see in China is the mid ranking universities wanting to have the ranks pushing their students a bit harder. Some universities saying that we don't want to play this rankings game. It will really vary by field as well. We people who we're interviewing were mostly in either applied fields or in education business.
