The Origins of Medics in Athens
Freeborn medics who died in Athens preferred to name the cities from which they had come. Many of Athens' most distinguished intellectuals were medics, such as Anaxagoras and Gorgias. Medics participated in most religious ceremonies organized by the state. The Goddess of Seduction was a significant occupation that played a major role in the Greek economy.
