We can hold up to 33% of our body weight and still be more efficient at covering ground than most other primates. I weigh up 180, I could easily carry a 60 pound kettlebell in one hand. We also seem to be the only species that can really do this well. You know, arguably we carried a lot more as early humans than we would have run because running is mostly reserved for hunts.
