Jim Jones had these ideas of oppression and seeing inequality around him from where he grew up. He said to himself, like, how can I do that? Well, I'm going to emulate them. So when you hear these sermons in him twisting a scripture, you realize that these people are going along with this message of death. And they followed this guy down and believe that he was God.
