Inflation cannot actually be measured. Value is in the eye of the beholder, so to speak. I don't like how bond people say that, well, it's the only instrument you're guaranteed paid back. Bull shod. Look at the history of government default. And then, even if they don't explicitly default, you are exposed fully to the implicit default of inflation.
