Steven Griffiths spent six years studying for a PhD in murder before his arrest. He described himself as someone who brought hate into heaven And he regularly reviewed DVDs and books about crime especially murder. A website he set up called the skeleton the jaguar was full of pictures of crossbows The site also contained photographs of 50 serial killers. It's believed that Griffiths started buying sex until around 10 years before he murdered. His ex-girlfriend told how she had to end their relationship after seeing what she saw at his home. She said: 'It was just horrific very macabre very scary'
