The Paradox of Obstacles

In Buddhism, encountering obstacles is considered paradoxically the path to a life of comfort and ease. An obstacle by definition is not ease or comfort. So we are forged through obstacles. Being happy is largely about being strong and strength only comes from challenging a strong enemy. And so if you never challenge that obstacle, if you never learn from it and develop yourself into someone who is able to solve even bigger obstacles, it's really going to be hard to be happy.
