Apple sells refurbished products, but those all seem like just open box returns. It's unclear if they're even repairing it or if they're just sort of like recycling the parts. If you want somebody who actually knows how to do the really challenging, intricate board level repairs, you go to an independent repair provider because Apple has no interest in doing that sort of fix.
Do we really own the devices we buy? ‘The Right to Repair’ author Aaron Perzanowki joins Adam to explain how companies are using their power to control the products we buy from them, even after they’ve left the store, and prevent us from repairing them ourselves. They discuss how this affects the environment, the livelihood of farmers, and the longevity of AirPods, and Aaron shares resources on how we can take power back and do our own repairs.
