Ben Jealous: I wrote a series of archaeological short thrillers about an evangelical Christian named Art West, who was good friends with a Jewish scholar at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. "I did it not mainly for entertainment, but to emphasize the importance of history and archaeology for the understanding of a biblical faith," he says. He adds that part of his motivation was Gnostic Christianity is not Christianity.
