Is Running a Catabolic Stimulus?
Running doesn't really eat muscle or break it down as fuel. To get that level of catabolic activity, you would need to basically not eat any protein and train at a level that would make a pro runner blush. The flip side of all this is weight training. If you're in the gym lifting weights, that's an anabolic stimulus. You're actually going to be prompting your body to build muscle.
