Are We in a Culture That's Trying to Erase Sadness and Boredom?
The charge against my generation is that we are not only these helicopter parents who are sort of constantly hovering, but also snow plough parents. I certainly see a tendenci sometimes in myself and in my wife, to try to make things always better for my kids. And i just instinctively a recoil from that instinct. Part of me wants to do it, and part of me is like, no, they have to experience these things.
