How Dredging Up Stories of the Past Helped You Write a Book?
I wanted to know, younow, is the anything particular about this moment in time that compelled you to write a book about race and story telling? Ye, obviously, a race and stories and martinalized figures have been in our preoccupations since the very outset of y my career. I feel that these pieces were really informed by thet i started writing am shortly after the murder of george floyd,. And just looking at the progression of, i guess, the advent of global protests o surrounding futal questions of police brutality and n social inequity and social justice. So these things were very much at the forefront of my thinking when i was sitting down to write.
