The Role of the Federal Reserve in the SBB Collapse
The SBB collapse may have been influenced by the Federal Reserve and more specifically some of the Feds monetary policy during COVID. Silicon Valley bank found itself in a very vulnerable position where they had what's called a duration mismatch. They were forced to sell their mortgage back securities and realize losses as well. So essentially what happened last week is the bomb went off.
