Why Do We Do That?

CHAPTER

Why Do You Procrastinate?

Dr Caroline Schluter studies biological psychology and personality neuroscience. She has been investigating if there is a biological basis for procrastination wired into the brains of us time-wasters. People who are more prone to procrastinate had a larger volume in their amygdala, which deals with negative emotions. Dr Schluter suggests that this association or poor management leads us toprocrastinate so we don't have to do unpleasant tasks.
