The Gaia Hypothesis and the Newsphere

Until the 1960s, many thought Venus was a paradise planet because of its cloud layer. We didn't even confirm Venus had a retrograde rotation until 1964. Cybernetic earth or earth with cybernetic feedbacks is another term in those early discussions that can be misleading. The Gaia Hypothesis tended to attract a lot of spiritual or new age elements but they're not really pertinent to the theory itself.
