It's certainly possible that TSMC could slip up and leadership in the chip industry is particularly hard to maintain. Moore's law demands that every two years the computing power on a cutting edge chip will double, which is an extraordinary advance of capabilities. But I think if you ask around the industry, most people would bet on TSMC's continued success because of their track record at delivering.
