Creating New Knowledge Through a KM Portal

A KM portal can be used to create capture new knowledge and then ensure that it gets put in a format. It's really shepherding the value, the creation, and the improvement of knowledge. We built a system that did some of that for one of our clients where users of the system were engaging in dialogue in those communities of practice. A lot of organizations are trying to figure out how to call somebody an expert or what it takes for somebody to be an expert.
