He says women who sleep less than four hours per night are twice as likely to die prematurely from heart disease. Also, men with poor sleep quality also were twice aslikely to have a heart attack and up to four times more likely to have a stroke during the study period. There's something going on with our sleep that is helping our bodies to manage and actually prevent, protect us from issues like heart disease.
