The History of Safe Spaces
When I think of safety, I'm also thinking about my experience of being valued as well and being seen. Safe spaces have always been about centering marginalized voices and strategizing around how to end oppression. So in that way, safety was about obviously your physical safety, but it is also about the emotional safety presenting yourself as you want it to be presented in community.
