The idea that the president would record everything and you'd hear just how many swear words, sentence after sentence, were routinely used by the most powerful man on earth. It's something you also see in the US after the Watergate tapes came out in 74,. The idea under Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter that we're going to be a bit more pure at amour than LBJ before Nixon was even more foul-mouthed. And I think often people like Johnson could be described as a stupid person's idea of a clever person.
