The Future of Japanese Pronunciation
There are some regions that are close to standard, but they have notable things in their dialect that are a little bit off. And sometimes those influence the standard dialect a bit. Some dialects actually have more complex pitch accent patterns than the Tokyo standard. So it's definitely going to be interesting to see how that forms. I definitely think there's going to be a lot of simplification.
