The Feminization of Academia
There's been a feminization of academia until the higher levels. The university life is incredibly hard to families, and women can have people with uteruses. You have a ton of men who don't go to college. They see it, they can rack up a massive amount of debt. But they're unlikely to get jobs in the fields that it would benefit them for the most part. Unless they go very far into it. A lot of people's experience of school is their first interaction with the state. Despite liberalization, despite some pushing back on drug war, there's a whole violent economy that has not been addressed.
