Dana Jones' new book is a history of the middle ages. It uses the fourteenth century as 'a distant mirror on the twentieth another time of war and instability in europe and plague and social turmoil' He says he was inspired by his love of classic books like Barbara tutman's, which have always made him want to turn the pages. The author hopes it will be approachable for an intelligent 13-year-old who has never read any other version of this story.
