The Inductive Method of the University

The university was going to teach people an inductive method. The idea was that if you read the literature, you don't necessarily identify with somebody that looks like you or you like. You try to suspend prejudicial thought and just analyze the traits of the character. Those were the mysteries that call in religious experience and require faith and belief. But as it came out of the enlightenment, these formal disciplines were filtering into society at large.
