The Evolution of PFAS Compounds
In the early 2000s, PFAS and PFOA were being found as point-first contaminants in a lot of different environments. The industry began phasing out these longer chain molecules and replacing them with shorter chain molecules that will not bioaccumulate. Now we see all of these new generations or these new varieties ofPFAS that are now popping up in the environment and in food sources or even human tissues.
