The Importance of Industrial Policy in America
I don't think we can adopt a Chinese model to do that, where you have state allocation of capital. I'm also not arguing in my book SuperPow in parallel that we should adopt an industrial policy. We need to find a way to focus on the technologies that are important, but also drive market forces. The CHIPS Act was well directed, it smells of some industrial policy kinds of things. And if we stay on that trajectory, it's not going to end well for us.
