The Importance of Proper Regulation of CAFOs

There are a few thousand, I think it's around 6,000, industrial livestock facilities in the country who have clean water act permits through their states. The states manage the EPA regulations. So there's less than one tenth of one percent of all livestock operations in the countrywho are regulated by the Clean Water Act. That's virtually nothing. And that's a little frankly, because of the huge risk that they cause with water pollution and they have an enormous track record of polluting the water.
