Are We More Alive Than a Tree?

A poem is a piece of writing in which the expression of feelings and ideas is given intensity by particular attention to diction, rhythm and imagery. I'm thinking of this in terms of the way I think about art. What does it mean to say that a thing is art? And my fallback is mostly like art has to invoke some feeling from the viewer. That's what art is.
