The Natural Gas Industry Is Not Complacent With Domestic Extremists
A Department of Homeland Security Bulletin released just after the power station attacks in Oregon and Washington warned that domestic extremists seem to be targeting the US power grid. Attacks on the electric grid could quickly cause major disturbances in the natural gas market if they impact the ability of utilities to generate electricity using natural gas. At a time when natural gas demand is high and production is limited, even a minor disruption in the supply chain could have a serious impact on the marketplace.
