Is Server Side Rendering in React a Good Replacement for PHP?

A lot of JavaScript these days is effectively performance pollution, but because it's a negative actionality you're not paying for it. So now the cost compared to building that same HTML some other way can be a more informed and I'd submit honest conversation about whether or not react is a good replacement for PHP. Like if the cost of goods sold doesn't go up so high that it's not economic then cool.
