The average attention span for an adult is now eight seconds. The first mistake that i see often is just not preparing what this 60 second, or maybe two minutes, a value proposition answer might be. Not having a clear structure and prepared answer can come across really quickly as someone who's not prepared. It sounds like you're starting to talk without a sense of direction. There's no cohesion or organization with the way that the question is answered.
