The No-Go Theorems of Pure Mathematics
Mathematicians have shown that it's almost impossible to come up with consistent and rational means by which we can make decisions. David writes, virtually all commentators have responded to these paradoxes and no-go theorems in a mistaken and rather revealing way. This illustrates a confusion to which I am referring. If your conception of rationality conflicts with a mathematical theorem, or in this case with many theorems, then your conception ofrationality is irrational. To stick stubbornly to logically impossible values not only guarantees failure but forces one to reject optimism.
