Anterolateral Pad Positioning for Transcutaneous Cardiac Pacing

Trans-cutaneous pacing is not successful in about 10% of cases so it's really important that we do this well. So just like in defibrillation you can use either anteroposteria or the standard anterolateral pad positioning and what we want is this to be more effective because it's safer and more efficient. There are some other factors that might help us to reduce the energy load including excessive body hair, sweating and skin abrasions. But always avoid putting pads over an implanted cardioverted device or a pacemaker.
