The idea of bio-determinism, though sticky and influential, has become largely discredited. The processes by which bodies become bodies are more complicated than simply attributing how bodies materialize to a linear causal flow from one source - DNA. This is why we return to DNA, because it now unfolds within the anthropocene, when essences and static identities have become untenable. A new story soils the ground, one which confounds the neatness of racial order and racial justice.
