"There's just something like so attractive about good, everyday people standing up against this much more powerful enemy," says the author. "If mutinies were a more regular thing, the whole thing would fall apart." The punishment for an attempted mutiny that didn't work is often the same as marooning - when you leave someone on a deserted island.
