Iceland is the perfect place for burying CO2, geologically speaking. Carbon dioxide can be turned into stone in a matter of months and years. The process uses renewable geothermal energy to power this accelerated process. Karri says that CO2 can come from anywhere in the world.

Direct air carbon capture - taking carbon dioxide straight out of the air around us - sounds like science fiction.
