How to Judge Experts in an Organization

Productivity probably declines after one's youth for non cognitive reasons. If you have the energy to pursue a ph t, i wouldn't let age stop you. I think expertse is a social phenomenon. To be an expert means that other experts of the same type recognize you as such. Employers can solve both of those problems.
