I'm sympathetic to the impersonal, and indeterminate model. I just feel like any reference to memory is gonna bring us back to that circular argument. But if you can talk about a continuity of experience combined with some sort of numerical persistence, or physical location, that actually is the right way to go. Memory just seems like a landmine.
