Elastic Search - What Happened to the Hosts?

We used technology called ox works to manage our elastic search hosts. It had very helpfully got this functionality called auto healing built in, which we had enabled by default into our house level configuration. And if the hosts were uncontactable by the opwork control plane or the opsworks back end, otiks workfo system wouldh attempt to auto hell the host in question. So everything that elastic search coster lost, every single piece of data. Which is pretty bad. We kind of knew about these problems like having to re drive or to refill our last success clusters and scratch but didn’t know about some of the dangers that were latent in our own auto-healing
