The Importance of Humanity in Acting

There's so much there that you can't, if you spent all your time trying to absorb it, you're just losing. I think what you have to go after is the kind of humanity and the person. And then ultimately the script is your main resource. You know, Chris's version of events is what we're telling. So that became the thing that I studied most of all. But when you're in a scene, all the research and everything that you've done, you kind of just abandon it. It's not an intellectual process at that point. It's a purely instinctual, emotional one.
