The Fed's Lessons From the Great Financial Crisis
Ben Bernanke: If we had let the financial panic continue and get even worse, the damage to the U.S. economy could have been much worse than it actually was. We need to make sure our system is sufficiently capitalized so that a panic like this becomes very unlikely in the future. The Fed has learned some lessons along the way but history will be the better judge of that.
