I used to think xes could be friends if the break up wasn't bad. But my mind changed a lot after my most recent one, just because i feel like going from romantic to something completely platonic is so hard. If you guys weren't friends before you started dating and then didn't work out, then maybe after i still think you need have a healthy amount of time before you guys try to be friends again. I do think it maybe could be possible. But if you didn't, then it's very hard to like go back tobeng friends, like it's easy to fall into old habits, too.
