Family Policies That Re-Functionalize Family Life
Helen: I think one thing to sort of underline and connection with Helen's point is just this idea of family policy as it's sort of kind of rolled out over there in Capitol Hill. We're talking about family policies that actually re-functionalize the family give parents more time more money more opportunities to be with their children. She says when we're doing productive work together as husbands and wives and children in the household for one another I think it tends to engender a sense of solidarity that's often lacking in household today.
