The Importance of Poetry
I really like that you brought poetry in to contrast because there is an entire world that is experienced or transmitted in a poem. There is this sense of essence in a poem that is far beyond the words that are there. And so there's something so important about the first experiments with chat, GPT, where people kept putting in, write a poem about peanut butter sandwiches in Shakespeare's style. So yes, it does reawaken us to experience. This is the defamiliarization thing, which I think both philosophy and poetry do in some regard.
